Frequently Asked Questions

Hygienic cladding refers to specialised materials designed to maintain cleanliness and hygienic environments where hygiene is crucial, such as hospitals, food processing facilities, pharmaceutical manufacturing plants, laboratories, and cleanrooms. These cladding materials are chosen for their ability to withstand rigorous cleaning procedures and resist the growth of bacteria, mould, and other contaminants.

We specialise in serving industries such as Food processing, Hospital & medical facilities, Beverage production, Supermarkets, Fast food outlets, Toilets & bathrooms, Wet rooms, Commercial kitchens, Swimming pools & gyms, Abattoirs, and Farm & livestock.

Hygienic cladding and antimicrobial hygienic cladding serve similar purposes in creating clean and safe environments, particularly in settings like healthcare facilities, food processing areas, and laboratories. However, there are key differences between the two:

Hygienic Cladding:

• Hygienic cladding typically refers to materials used in wall coverings, ceilings, and other surfaces that are designed to be easy to clean and maintain. They are often made from materials such as PVC, fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP), or stainless steel.

• The primary focus of hygienic cladding is to provide surfaces that are resistant to moisture, bacteria, and other contaminants. They are easy to wipe down and disinfect, helping to maintain a clean environment.

Antimicrobial Hygienic Cladding:

• Antimicrobial hygienic cladding goes a step further by incorporating substances or technologies that actively inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi, mold, and other microorganisms on the surface.

• These antimicrobial properties can be achieved through various means, including the addition of antimicrobial agents like silver ions or copper, or through the use of specialised coatings or treatments.

• The goal of antimicrobial hygienic cladding is not only to provide a cleanable surface but also to actively reduce the presence and growth of microbes, thereby further enhancing hygiene and reducing the risk of contamination.

In summary, while both hygienic cladding and antimicrobial hygienic cladding aim to create clean and safe environments, antimicrobial hygienic cladding offers an additional layer of protection by actively inhibiting microbial growth on the surfaces.
